Cheap And Cheerful Websites

Table of Contents

Simple, clean, efficient. What you need for your Web.

You need a new web. You need to be in control. And you need to be in charge of your web content. This page explains why.

Information for your customers

A Web presence is there for one reason and one reason only - to market your business. And to market your business your web needs to provide correct and up to date information for people who come to your web. Remember, if your web is too slow, or out of date then people hit the "back button" and visit the next search engine result. People are impatient when using the web. They want fast, accurate information. They are not interested in flashy graphics, annoying audio or the latest plug ins which they need to download in order to see your web. All they want is information. Timely and accurate information.

Efficiency and speed

Web designers the world over are making a lot of money from people investing in new sites. The sites are adorned with the graphics and styles of the day and frequently the information content is lost. The web site ends up being more a marketing tool for the creative genius of the web designer than as an information portal for your existing and potential new customers. You want to reach the maximum number of users. More and more people use PDAs and smartphones (think Blackberry or iPhone). These devices tend to run on slower networks. They have smaller screens. You do NOT want to limit your potential clients to those on high bandwidth Microsoft Windows machines that have correctly installed Flash media player. You want information for everyone that can access the web. People are getting more and more annoyed with "heavy" pages which take an eon to load and require special plugins like Flash. They came to your site to see what you offer. Not to marvel at the creative genius of your web designer.

Ease of use

People want to see information. And they want it quickly. Keep it simple. Keep it clean. You want to modify the web yourself, you might want your co-workers to modify the information on the web. This must be easy for anyone to use. You do not want to pay someone a fortune to update the web for you. And why should you? Do it yourself. Own the web.

Ownership

All to often people invest in a new web, pay a fortune for the site to be built and then in no time the web falls out of date. The reasons are many, but the main reasons are as follows:

  • Cost of update. Your web designer demands a "per update" fee. You can not afford that.
  • The web designer is not available. Possibly on holiday. Possibly he's moved away. With YOUR passwords. It happens all the time.
  • Too much effort. You were provided with a complex description of how to update it. You're not a programmer. It makes no sense. You don't want the hassle. And why should you?

A web that displays out of date information is a dead web. People see out of date events and immediately search for something that is accurate. My solution takes care of these things for you. See my homepage and contact me for more details.
